Actually, LWT, I was surprised to learn when I was in Honduras in my missionary assignment, that Evangelical Christians believe that after 1000 years in heaven, they will come down to the "new earth" and live on it forever in a paradise. They have scriptures that are more convincing than JWs scriptures. This caused me to wonder about my own faith, and I saw the shaky ground that both camps are standing on. It was hard to defend our own paradise earth concepts when theirs seemed to be even closer to the Bible...
I know that there are a variety of beliefs about paradise. But I specifically address my vids to JW's: I say, "If you are a JW......" etc.

Why I am an atheist

1. religious reason: there is no proof for god outside of the bible.
once i dropped my belief in the bible, the judeo-christian concept of god fell apart like a house of cards.

Farkel: The flaw in your argument is that you haven't considered the possibility that the existence of a Creator and the veracity of the Bible don't have to could be mutually inclusive.
I have considered that Farkel. I rejected the Bible first, and then decided to tackle the question as to whether I would believe in a God or not. I definitely do not believe in the Bible God. As to whether there is a "god" who created matter in the universe, the jury is out on that one, as no one can prove it either way, especially since if he/she/it exists, he/she/it has been quite silent on the matter.

What is the most damning scripture in the Bible?
by viva infor many years, i had serious issues with alot of scriptures.
the creation account, the flood, jonah in the whale, etc.
scriptures that are scientifically falsifiable.

For me it was scriptures like:
(Psalm 137:9) . . .Happy will he be that grabs ahold and does dash to pieces Your children against the crag.
(2 Kings 2:23-24) . . .And he proceeded to go up from there to Beth′el. As he was going up on the way, there were small boys that came out from the city and began to jeer him and that kept saying to him: “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” 24 Finally he turned behind him and saw them and called down evil upon them in the name of Jehovah. Then two she-bears came out from the woods and went tearing to pieces forty-two children of their number.
I'm sorry, but I can't believe in the divine origin of a book that repeatedly advocates the killing of inncent children. I've pointed out these texts to JWs and I get blank stares and strange justifications.
